Collaborating on Latina Day: Culture in Action

Collaborating on Latina Day: Culture in Action
Following my work with Mi Gente, I continued contributing to culture-driven initiatives through collaboration with the RVO Health group on Latina Day, presented under Collab – Adelante.
This initiative celebrated National Latina Day with an empowering public-speaking workshop led by keynote speaker Ivonne Armenta, focused on vision, voice, and leadership. The theme, "Create Your Vision, and Live It Out Loud," centered on visibility, confidence, and representation.
From a creative standpoint, this project required a different approach.
Where Mi Gente was foundational brand building, Latina Day was about activating culture through event design and visual storytelling.
Designing for Energy, Celebration, and Visibility
The visual system for Latina Day embraced vibrancy and warmth — bold color blocks, floral motifs, and layered typography that felt celebratory but structured. The design needed to:
• Capture cultural pride without cliché
• Feel modern and confident
• Scale across digital invites, internal communications, and event materials
• Align with the broader RVO Health ecosystem
The collaboration required alignment across stakeholders — ERG leadership, communications teams, and internal programming leads. It was both creative direction and coordination.
Leadership Through Collaboration
Latina Day reinforced something I value deeply: leadership doesn't always mean owning the entire project. Sometimes it means bringing clarity, cohesion, and intentional design into a shared space.
Through this collaboration, I contributed to:
• Visual identity execution
• Event communication design
• Brand consistency within a larger organizational framework
• Cultural programming that supported employee engagement
The result was more than a well-designed event. It was a visible expression of inclusion — one that celebrated Latina voices while encouraging leadership development within the organization.

What These Initiatives Represent
From building Mi Gente's foundational brand to collaborating on Latina Day within RVO Health, my work in ERGs reflects a consistent throughline:
Design as infrastructure for belonging.
Brand as a signal of permanence.
Creative direction as leadership in action.
These weren't side projects.
They were culture-building moments — built with intention, collaboration, and care.
